Cornhole Shpooing Guide

About Cornhole Bags

Cornhole is a sport of touch and finesse. It's not a power game. It's not a contest of quickness. That's what makes it great – anyone can do it. A good cornhole bag gives you that touch.

Look for cornhole bags made of soft material like felt or suede. This gives you both control and smoothness, so you can either stop your toss on a dime or slide it right up the board and into the hole. Try getting that kind of control with denim or nylon.

According to ACO standards, bags should weigh about 16oz., or about the same as a large potato. Not sure I know exactly why they picked this weight. All I know is that it works. It makes bags easy to toss but heavy enough to swing smoothly. It's all physics I guess.

The biggest thing for me is that every cornhole bag should weigh the same. I don't know how many times I've played with homemade sets and nearly threw out my shoulder because one bag had lost half its corn.

Speaking of leaking corn, I don't tolerate it and neither should you. Bags should last a long time. Holes in your cornhole board are great, but not in your cornhole bag. If it raises a cloud of dust when it hits the board, that's not a good sign.

Whatever you do, when you get your bags, protect 'em. They're your cornholing tools. They should just "feel" right. Once you feel it, you don't want to give it up.
